The secret of living in Contentment

THE SECRET OF LIVING IN CONTENTMENT

LUKE 12:13-31

Lots of people lose their health trying to become wealthy and later lose their wealth trying to get their health, as a child of God, you must avoid this demonic trap. Heaven is today trying to draw your attention to the power and secret of contentment. Life is an eternal struggle. It is good to have money and the things money can buy, but it is better to regularly make sure that you do not lose the things money cannot buy.
Money is a universal provider of everything except happiness. Be reminded again that money can buy mansion but not peace and security. Money can buy a bed but not sleep. It can also buy delicious foods but not appetite- there are thousands of rich people who are in hospitals but cannot eat. Money can buy medicine but not healing, remember doctors die too.

Pursue contentment at all levels. Learn never to pursue money to the detriment of your daily quiet time, your weekly local church fellowships or your Christian integrity. Luke 12:15 says that “take heed and beware for a man’s life does not consist the abundance of the things which he possesses.”

Did you get that? Contentment is when your earning power equals your yearning power. When you can think of your yesterday without regrets and tomorrow without fear or anxiety, then you are near real contentment. Enjoy what you have and refuse to worry about what you don’t have.

John ray did say, “diseases are the prices we pay on uncontrolled pleasures.” This shouldn’t be your portion this year in the name of Jesus, Amen. Dwell in contentment for as long as there is life, there is hope. Godliness with contentment is a secret of successful people. Seek it every day of your life.

Do not forget to look up to Jesus, for the fulfilment of our daily desires

PRAYER
Thank God for your glorious future. Paralyse all demonic forces working against your career.

Persistence - The story of the little boy and the skate board

PERSISTENCE-THE STORY OF THE LITTLE BOY AND THE SKATE BOARD

LUKE 18:1-8

A little boy was learning how to skate on snow. His frequent fall provoked the pity of a passer-by who said, “you are getting all banged up, why don’t you stop for a while and watch others do it?” with tears still rolling down his cheeks from his last fall, the boy looked up into the eyes of the adviser and said, “ Mister, I didn’t get this shoes to give up with, I got them to learn how with.” The uninvited passer-by quickly hurried away and I tell you, nothing will stop that boy from learning and mastering how to skate.

Listen brethren, the holy Ghost wants you to know that success in most cases depends on knowing how long it takes to succeed. Giving up because of adversaries will add your name to the list of failures. Patience and strong determination can be compared to the dropping of water which finally wears away the hardest stone.
The man or woman who reserves and perseveres can do and have almost anything. Be that kind of person. Your destiny is too great to be lost to impatience. Did they wicked judge in our scriptural reference not bow to the persistence of the widow?

So why do you think your case Is different. Don’t give up now even when you think your pathway may be rough and narrow and your tomorrow looks unreal. No matter what the size of the bottle is, the cream always rises to the top.

So be persistent.

GOD IS NEVER WRONG

GOD IS NEVER WRONG

ROMANS 8:28
PSALMS 46:1-11

If the time comes that all hell is let loose against you and you are thrown into your burning furnace, just know that God will never take anything away from you without giving you something better. The battle he allows is to mould you into the kind of person you should be. Jeremiah 29:11 says “for I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

God will never ask you to become a wrong kind of person to do the right kind of things. God can never be wrong, his ways are perfect and farther than your brain can imagine. Just believe that when the best things are going wrong, God will always be there to make you strong. As you journey through life, have faith in God.

When people hurt you, God will heal you. When you people humiliate you, God will magnify you. When people judge you, God will justify you. Have faith in God because he is never wrong. Life is like a camera. Focus on what is important, capture the good times. Develop from the negatives, and if things delay and don’t work out, take another shot and you will know at last that God is never wrong. Resist fear for everything you want in life is on the other side of fear (Jack Canfield)

Don’t allow depression, self-pity, inferiority complex, self-comparison, suicide thoughts etc. to master your mind. In your battle front, be still and know that he is God. Drown in your tears if you may, but you are swimming out at last if you wait on him because God is never wrong. Something great is in the making for you.
PRAYER
Lord, through the many zig-zags and twists of life, lead me to that expected end of my destiny in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen

Child of God,trust in God and his son Jesus, and you will see that he is never wrong.

When your pilot dies-learn to trust in God

WHEN YOUR PILOT DIES—LEARNING TO TRUST IN GOD
The news was explosive in the world-wide media when it was reported that a pilot dies mid-flight and the co-pilot landed the plane. On examination, the autopsy revealed he had a heart attack and the wife confirmed that her husband underwent a heart surgery in the past and he was told he would likely die of a heart attack. There were 147 passengers in the plane and five crew members when it too off from the airport. When your pilot dies mid-air, then only God can make sure you see land again.

The holy Ghost is saying to you in this sermon “for I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.” Psalm 44:6. Refuse to trust in your bow, anything or any person around your life and family. Refuse to look at the things that gives you confidence, including your job, career, spouse, helpers etc. psalm 118:9 says, “it is better to trust in the lord than to put confidence in princes.”

Lynn Barber said, “I learned not to trust people, I learned not to believe what they say, but to watch what they do. I learned to suspect that anyone and everyone is capable of living a lie. I came to believe that other people, even when you think you know them very well, are ultimately unknowable.”

Did you get that? The lord is warning you that your bow- your wife/husband, your pilot, your pastor, your best friend- can fail you at one point or the other.
Love people, but never have absolute trust in any man or woman. Give that trust to God alone. Look back and thank God. Look up and trust God. He alone closes doors that no man can open and he opens doors that no man can close.
Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ, if I ever trust in any man or woman on this earth, let him or her disappoint me.

Whose report do you believe?

WHOSE REPORT DO YOU BELIEVE?
God told Elijah to leave where he was and go and hide at a certain brook. He promised to feed and look after him. The lord told him, “you would have fresh water to drink there and I have ordered the ravens, the birds to feed you.”
But after a while, things became so rough, the brook dried up and the ravens refused to show up. The heat began and he became a laughing stock.
How often does God have things going well in your life and then the supply runs out and the rains stops? What do you do when your well planned goals begin to crumble and fail? At such times, some people begin to blame God. God you brought me here, I did what you said and now look what has happened. NEVER DO THAT. KEEP TRUSTING EVEN WHEN THE GOING BECOMES TWISTED.

Every test you go through will bring you to another level of trusting God. It is the heat that would reveal who we are and what we are made of. If we are ready to let God, he would go before us and provide for us as he did for Elijah.

1st Kings 18:41 says “go, eat for there is the sound of the abundance of rain.” Elijah had proclaimed to Ahab that the rain was coming and to be prepared. Elijah heard the rain even before it was seen.

What are you hearing? In the scripture, it is told that Elijah was expecting rain. Seven times, he said “Go back.”  The seventh time, the servant reported, a cloud as small as a man’s hand is rising from the sea.

What are you hearing? Whose report do you want to hear? Even before the cloud appears, keep looking, keep believing, keep holding on. Others may not see it, but you can see it in your spirit. Go back, keep looking.

The persistent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Nothing is impossible to us if we absolutely, wholly allow God to be God in our lives and follow him in everything. Remember, God knows exactly what is about to happen in our lives. He is the only one who knows the end from the beginning. Nothing takes him by surprise and nothing causes him to be worried. God has already been where you are about to go, so don’t ever give up.

IN THE SEASONS OF TIME PART TWO-WINNING BY ALL MEANS IS NOT OF GOD

Remember that Jesus said, “follow me and I will make you fishers of men.” He is the maker, making yourself the head by all means is just a temporary breakthrough rooted on sinking sands.

Avoid it! Stop it! Stop envying others! do your best, let your hands be clean and leave the rest to God. Arnold Schwarzenegger screamed “strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.”

Though David was in the deep bush, did he win at last? Was he not made head at last? How could he have overthrown the greatest power at that time with his own effort? Humanly speaking, his winning and being the head was impossible. Promotion does not come by cheating because at the said time, he had no Army. He becoming the king of Isreal had nothing to do with him killing Goliath. (He was chosen in first Samuel 13 and he killed Goliath in chapter 17).
Wilma Rudolph said, “winning is sure great, but if you are willing to do something great in life, the secret is learning how to lose. Nobody goes undefeated all the time. If you can pick up after a crushing defeat and go on to win again, you are going to be a champion someday.”
So, winning and becoming the head is not by anxiety or panic actions. It is by God favouring you in your due season. Remember Gehazi wanted to win and grow rich by all means, but he became rich with leprosy, if God be God, then in your season, your making by him will show forth for the world to behold. Wait on the lord.

Prayer points

Even in the land of famine, Isaac prospered. Tell God that things are hard but you want his power for success in all that you do.

Pray for help from above not to be envious of the prosperity of the wicked.

Jesus Christ, Our Audacity to pray to God

The prayer of a sinful man is an abomination before God, then why does the sinner still come to pray to a Who has considered his sins an abomination? This question can only be answered if we understand the bible.

We humans cannot go to our earthly father to ask for anything when we are not in good terms with him, then how can we now have the boldness to go to our heavenly father to ask for anything in spite of our sin.

When a true Christian commits a sin, there is that emptiness, that void in him that makes him feel his prayers would not be answered. Filling that void can only happen when we return back to God and earnestly confess our sins to him, promising never to go back to it, only then can we have the boldness to pray to a father who would listen.

Jesus’ Christ death and resurrection has purchased for us the bridge which we can cross over to God and call him Abba father. He has made us heir to an inheritance, an inheritance deeply rooted in God’s kingdom and promises which he gives to his children who call upon him.

We can only have the guts to go to the father, when we fully grasp the role his son played that we may be redeemed. Christ is the author and finisher of our faith, his death and resurrection has given us a blank check to his father, no wonder he called us co-heirs to the kingdom of his father.

Psalm 82 calls us gods. Who is a god you may ask? We are created in God’s image, therefore we are God-like. If we are on the same page with God, because we are his children, we can come to him without any fear in our hearts and he would hear and answer us. We can never have that boldness if we remain in sin. Let us not allow sin separate us from the love of Christ.
We need to live our lives to that point where we can boldly hit our chests and say, I know my father will answer me as I have prayed to him according to his will and purpose for me. The only way to build that audacity to go to the father is through Jesus Christ.

Faith is an Action Word

The oxford English dictionary defines faith as a noun which means a complete trust or confidence in someone or something. A second definition renders it as a strong belief in the doctrines of a religion based on spiritual conviction rather than proof.

Trying not to disproof the above definitions, I see faith as a verb, an action word which needs to be carried out or experienced, for the bible made it clear that faith without works is dead. Therefore, faith goes beyond a spiritual conviction which must play out in our everyday lives. If a Christian does not live and work in faith, then he cannot have a live experience of the things of God. God expects us to pursue our goals in live with faith knowing that we will win so long as we trust in him.

To buttress this point, I will use the story of pastor Suleiman of Omega mimistries, (a moslem who converted to Christianity in Kaduna, you can browse that for more information), who had a fight with the central government when some moslems were killing Christians in the northern part of Nigeria. Because he hit hard on the government’s islamization agenda, the government decided to castigate him and discredit his reputation.

The said girl, Stephanie Otobor, a prostitute living in Kaduna, was paid to be the hangman. She held a press conference alleging that Pastor Suleiman has been having sex with him and has refused to meet up with his manly responsibilities of taking care of him and a whole lot of other accusations.
Pastor Suleiman, not deterred by her accusations, came to church and the first thing he did was to kneel down before his congregation and said, “in seven days, those accusing me shall also come out to say I have nothing to do with this. The will confess else I cease to be a pastor.”

Not long from when he said that, exactly five days later, the lady involved with her mother held another press conference and told the world that she was paid to do it by the government of kaduna in alliance with a famous lawyer. The mother asked for forgiveness from pastor Suleiman and addressed the daughter as a desperate woman who can do anything for money.

To me, that is faith in action. We must always endeavour to work out our faith gradually to the point where when we kneel to pray, the devil gets afraid and when we declare anything, it comes to pass.

Apostle Paul said that we must always fight the fight of faith, always proving ourselves before the father so that we can be worthy to be called the sons of God. When we have proven ourselves before our heavenly father, then we can be rest assured that we can have all that we need depending on the level of faith that we have attained.

Challenges would always come, but when they do, just know that we have powers within us to always win. We should always remember that whatever the temptation, we have an inherent capacity to fight it off and win over the devil anytime and even if you fail at first, you can always stand again and fight for you shall surely win in the end.

Do not let the fight swallow you, swallow the fight and move on to a higher level of life that you have been called.
