In the seasons of Time

I am not going to start this sermon with what you already know. It is no longer news that to everything in life, there is a season and a time. This sermon will dwell on understanding the season in your life so that you can make a better decision and manage your life to its greatest potential.
It is very important to note that in a man’s life, there is a season, a season to plant and a season to harvest. You cannot be in a seed planting season and expect to be harvesting. In the same vein, if you are an employee and your employer is harvesting greatly, do not compare yourself with him, he had already had his seed planting season and is now harvesting, you ought to know that you should be planting at that time so you can have your harvest time.
That Mr. A is harvesting does not mean that Mr. B should be harvesting, even if they both work for the same employer.
Elisha made it clear when he was offered a gift after healing Naaman (2 kings 5:20-27), he refused it, but Gehazi went behind and took the gift. Elisha became furious and made it clear to him that it was not the time for harvest, and this covetousness led to the leprosy of Gehazi. This is because he thwarted prematurely the plans of God. It is a very important lesson not to sabotage God’s cycles by intruding in a season prematurely.

The challenges you pass through time which can be referred to as a cold season can also be your seed planting season, or a night season, but the day season will come, a season where you would reap bountifully.
In this cold season, people may mock and insult you as you wait upon the lord. In this your winter season, all sorts of negative derision could be hauled at you, but do not mind, stay focused and understand that it is your seed planting season. Do not cut down your tree prematurely, let your faith play a vital role and I tell you it would definitely end in praise. Hold on and believe that your harvest time would come.

A simple philosophy to strengthen you in this period of darkness is to know that as long as the seasons remain, night and day, prosperity and hardship, winter and summer, there is absolutely nothing you can do about it, you can’t stop it, but can only adapt to it. You can pray all you can with all the amount of faith in you and still borrow the faith of your brethren, you still won’t be able to change a season. You cannot travel to Europe or northern America in December and expect it to be summer. It would definitely be winter.
You can only adapt to it. In the same way, when you are passing through the storms of life, in your dark season, always remember that this is the best time to plant seeds so that in due season, you can reap bountifully. This does not only apply to prosperity matters. Even in our relationships, when it seems that we are at our lowest ebb and about to lose our loved ones. This is the right time to invest in the relationship and ourselves, to think back and know exactly what went wrong and try to remedy it. This would be the time to invest tremendous amount of energy, time and attention to make things work and in due season, you shall reap happiness. Remember, whatever thou sowest, that would thou reap. You don’t expect to sow rice and reap up legumes.
What do you do in your seed planting time? This is the period you stay focused on God’s, investing your energy to right thoughts and working round the clock to pursue your dreams of having a better future when you harvest.  This is the time to think deep to generate great ideas and connections that would propel you to that which you desire. This is the time you analyse your situation and put strategies in place to change your story.
Remember, that God will not abandon you in your night season, Yes, he knows about your situation and wants to use it for his glory, and if you are a true a true believer, your story would definitely end in praise.
May the good lord help us to understand the seasons of our time and make better use of it in the name of Jesus, Amen.
