A DOUBLE LIFE DOUBLES YOUR SORROWS
PSALM 51:1-19
A former British royal Air force employee has returned a history book to the Malta public library 42 years after he borrowed it and he was rewarded with a cup of coffee. Emie Roscouet, a resident of the channel Islands, packed the book when he left Malta in June 1962 and returned it when his wife gave him a holiday to Malta as his 60th birthday present. He said, “My conscience pricked me all the time and I decided to restitute.” He was actually expecting a fine, but instead he was given a cup of coffee to encourage others to return overdue books.

Proverbs 11:1 says “a false balance is an abomination unto God, but a just weight is his delight.” Try and make your life and daily activities just and right. Return whatever does not belong to you. Pay back whatever you owe. Work for your pay. Stop wasting your official hours, pay your employees, your prosperity is tied to your living right. Don’t allow the devil to lay hold on whatever he can to hinder your prayers and the work of God.

Your success is tied to your character, because your enemy the devil is a formidable accuser looking for every loophole to block you from prospering. Living a double life will slow down your progress by half and double your sorrows. Fight to retain a good name. John Morely said, “no man can climb beyond the limitations of his character. Gehazi’s character limited him.

Pursue good daily wherever you. Evangelize your character before seeking for charisma. Philip Brooks  said, “a man who lives right and is right, has more power in his silence than another has by his words.” Drop that wrong relationship. Live so that your friends can defend you, but never have to do so. Do not forget that without holiness, no man can see God. It is hard to climb high when your character is in question.

GENESIS 26:9-16
There is an anonymous quote I got years ago that has helped my life, it says, “things may come to those who wait, but only things left by those who hustle.” I will add also that, “hustle with wisdom.”

Proverbs 10:4 says that, “the hand of the diligent makes rich.” Proverbs 13:4 says “the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.” Diligence means hard work. Any extra touch on the job, school, ministry and home for example, will always make a difference. Determine to work a little harder than others.

The bible declares in proverbs 18:9 that “he that is slothful (lazy) in his work is a great waster.” May you not waste your appointed years on earth. That four-worded sentence, “not slothful in business,” in Romans 12:11, has been propelling my life and ministry and it must be your watch statement all through your life. You must resist satanic lies of discouragement, don’t drop your guard now, keep working! Keep putting extra hours into your life’s assignment and as long as God is still on the throne, the results must show, the difference must appear.

If Isaac in Genesis 26:12, whose father was rich could sow by tilling the hard ground in the desert, despite all the promises of prosperity God gave to his family, then we have no excuse to hang  our sickles. Reject slothfulness and things that waste your destiny.

I admire the words used to promote the Peugeot when it was first introduced into the market, it says, “the right choice and success is not always by luck.” Hard work is always involved. No matter how the year has been, cultivate and till your ground extra more and you would be ahead of your peers by extra days.

Welcome to this devotional with he that is called Ebenezer, the tear wiper. In this my years with the lord, I have come to realise that I the darkness of this world, there is a strange light.

I have come face to face with Ahabs, Nebuchanezzars and Herods of this world, the wicked rulers of this world. The God that has kept me by his grace will also keep you from their demonic bullets.

Consider this story, sometime ago, in Port-harcourt,, Rivers state of Nigeria, the victim of a fatal road accident turned into a goat which was badly dis-figures and ripped open by the speeding Vehicle. The driver said that as he was hurrying to work, he had hit an old woman who suddenly appeared in the centre of the road, so convinced was the driver that he had hit someone’s grandmother. He cried so bitterly. His tears soon gave way to fear when sympathisers got to the scene, where the supposed victim laid, instead of the lifeless body of an old woman, they saw a dead brown goat. The incident was to assume a new dimension later when a man who drove a car attempted to cover the goat with a piece of white cloth and take it away.
Onlookers challenged him until he confessed that his mother at home that she had cried out that she was naked somewhere and had appealed to him to go and cover the dead animal.

Not impressed with the man’s explanation, the irate bunch burnt the car beyond recognition and beat him to a state of coma. What a world of mysteries and wickedness. Do you still doubt that the spiritual controls the physical? Do you still doubt that the there are strange, unseen powers that don’t want your progress? What would have happened if the accident had claimed the man’s life? Do you still doubt that witches and wizards are real? Come to Africa and see them falling off the skies as if their finished mid-way on a journey. Well that is always the excuse they give.
You need to strengthen your spiritual security and re-affirm your spiritual authority over demons and principalities in high places. Declare Numbers 23:23 every day of your life.
Look up to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

PRAYER
I send lightening and thunder and the hook of the lord against the power of witches and wizards of this world targeted against my life, family and ministry progress in the name of the lord, Amen. This is my year in Jesus, Amen.

THE SECRET OF LIVING IN CONTENTMENT

LUKE 12:13-31

Lots of people lose their health trying to become wealthy and later lose their wealth trying to get their health, as a child of God, you must avoid this demonic trap. Heaven is today trying to draw your attention to the power and secret of contentment. Life is an eternal struggle. It is good to have money and the things money can buy, but it is better to regularly make sure that you do not lose the things money cannot buy.
Money is a universal provider of everything except happiness. Be reminded again that money can buy mansion but not peace and security. Money can buy a bed but not sleep. It can also buy delicious foods but not appetite- there are thousands of rich people who are in hospitals but cannot eat. Money can buy medicine but not healing, remember doctors die too.

Pursue contentment at all levels. Learn never to pursue money to the detriment of your daily quiet time, your weekly local church fellowships or your Christian integrity. Luke 12:15 says that “take heed and beware for a man’s life does not consist the abundance of the things which he possesses.”

Did you get that? Contentment is when your earning power equals your yearning power. When you can think of your yesterday without regrets and tomorrow without fear or anxiety, then you are near real contentment. Enjoy what you have and refuse to worry about what you don’t have.

John ray did say, “diseases are the prices we pay on uncontrolled pleasures.” This shouldn’t be your portion this year in the name of Jesus, Amen. Dwell in contentment for as long as there is life, there is hope. Godliness with contentment is a secret of successful people. Seek it every day of your life.

Do not forget to look up to Jesus, for the fulfilment of our daily desires

A different kind of prayer

A DIFFERENT KIND OF PRAYER

Prayer is a way that we pour out  our heart to God. It is the only way we can go to God since we cannot see him physically. We are constantly tormented by the things of this world, problems and strife and the good book has made it known to us that the battles we face are not canal but spiritual. That is why the apostle told us that we must be battle-ready at all times so we don’t fall victim to the schemes of the enemy.
Has it ever occurred to you how someone would be doing so well in his endeavour and the next minute he is so broke and his debt.

The devil is never sleeping, he is moving on the surface of the earth looking for whom to kill and to destroy. That is why you need a different kind of Prayer to battle him.

Because we are fighting principalities and powers in high places, our weapons shall also be spiritual. For instance, when you are praying for deliverance and say things like, “every witchcraft power fighting against my prosperity, I fire you with the thunder of the most high God.” You position yourself as if with a gun and as a soldier and fire thunders into the spiritual realm and scatter the covens of the devil. This is a battle and there are no rules of engagement. Fire whatever missile into the covens of witchcraft and powers of darkness in high places and belief that you have caused confusion in the world of darkness.

PERSISTENCE-THE STORY OF THE LITTLE BOY AND THE SKATE BOARD

LUKE 18:1-8

A little boy was learning how to skate on snow. His frequent fall provoked the pity of a passer-by who said, “you are getting all banged up, why don’t you stop for a while and watch others do it?” with tears still rolling down his cheeks from his last fall, the boy looked up into the eyes of the adviser and said, “ Mister, I didn’t get this shoes to give up with, I got them to learn how with.” The uninvited passer-by quickly hurried away and I tell you, nothing will stop that boy from learning and mastering how to skate.

 Listen brethren, the holy Ghost wants you to know that success in most cases depends on knowing how long it takes to succeed. Giving up because of adversaries will add your name to the list of failures. Patience and strong determination can be compared to the dropping of water which finally wears away the hardest stone.
The man or woman who reserves and perseveres can do and have almost anything. Be that kind of person. Your destiny is too great to be lost to impatience. Did they wicked judge in our scriptural reference not bow to the persistence of the widow?

So why do you think your case Is different. Don’t give up now even when you think your pathway may be rough and narrow and your tomorrow looks unreal. No matter what the size of the bottle is, the cream always rises to the top.

So be persistent.

Stubborn determination in the midst of life’s battles, attacks, enemies and disappointment is a winning secret. Note this, when the final chapter of your life has been completed, it would be found that your persistence or a lack of it, had played a great role in either your success or failure. Learn from the widow. Hold on and hold out, but most importantly, believe that your persistence will make a way for you.

MARK 2:1-12

When the great William Grace, founder of the Grace shipping line and ex-mayor of New York was asked the secret of his outstanding success, he quickly said, “the secret of success is stick-to-it-iveness, industry and strict attention to the main object at hand.”

When General Grant, who fought at the battles of Fort and Shiloh, USA, was asked to comment on how his troops won, he said, “I thought I was going to fail, but I kept right on.” What a lesson. It is this keep right on that wins the battles of life. I remember that it has been written that there is nothing new under the sun-Eccl 1:9. What this means is that someone has conquered whatever you are passing through or will pass through in this life at one time or the other before. No problem can paralyse you except you give up so soon. Every problem in your life has been given an expiry date by your God- The God that can expire all things without expiring.
That battle confronting you has been instructed in the spirit world on how long it must stay. It is definitely not forever and you won’t expire with it. The slow penny in God’s will is surer than the quick dollar in man. The slow trotter will out travel the fleet racer. It is the grace of God.

The scripture reference above renders that when they could not come close to him (Jesus), the opened the roof. The amplified version says they dug through the roof.
They dug through. Digging is tough. Waiting is tough. But listen child of God. The way is always through. Yes. There is always a way out of every battle. Find it. Refuse to give up. Assuming these men saw the crowd and gave up, satan would have rejoiced. But they knew that,

yes, the crowd of problems may temporarily block the face of the master, but stubborn determination and persistence will open the roof for the shower of manifestation. Yes, every obstacle has an opportunity, and every opportunity has an obstacle, but never forget that for every crowd of delay or disappointment, there is a roof of appointment. Patience will show you that roof.
All the men who the world called geniuses like Isaac Newton, owe all their greatness to abnormal and aggressive patience, stubborn determination and faith in God. Hold on, the last battle could mean your victory. Dig through that roof because this could be your year of great open doors. Amen.

Boast only in Christ and shore up your faith
