Whose report do you believe?

WHOSE REPORT DO YOU BELIEVE?
God told Elijah to leave where he was and go and hide at a certain brook. He promised to feed and look after him. The lord told him, “you would have fresh water to drink there and I have ordered the ravens, the birds to feed you.”
But after a while, things became so rough, the brook dried up and the ravens refused to show up. The heat began and he became a laughing stock.
How often does God have things going well in your life and then the supply runs out and the rains stops? What do you do when your well planned goals begin to crumble and fail? At such times, some people begin to blame God. God you brought me here, I did what you said and now look what has happened. NEVER DO THAT. KEEP TRUSTING EVEN WHEN THE GOING BECOMES TWISTED.

Every test you go through will bring you to another level of trusting God. It is the heat that would reveal who we are and what we are made of. If we are ready to let God, he would go before us and provide for us as he did for Elijah.

1st Kings 18:41 says “go, eat for there is the sound of the abundance of rain.” Elijah had proclaimed to Ahab that the rain was coming and to be prepared. Elijah heard the rain even before it was seen.

What are you hearing? In the scripture, it is told that Elijah was expecting rain. Seven times, he said “Go back.”  The seventh time, the servant reported, a cloud as small as a man’s hand is rising from the sea.

What are you hearing? Whose report do you want to hear? Even before the cloud appears, keep looking, keep believing, keep holding on. Others may not see it, but you can see it in your spirit. Go back, keep looking.

The persistent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Nothing is impossible to us if we absolutely, wholly allow God to be God in our lives and follow him in everything. Remember, God knows exactly what is about to happen in our lives. He is the only one who knows the end from the beginning. Nothing takes him by surprise and nothing causes him to be worried. God has already been where you are about to go, so don’t ever give up.
